A tornado in Forest Hills

16sept2010

Gerald MacDonald Memorial Park or what’s left of it. This was on the day after the storm on 9/16/10.

I didn’t get to witness the full fury of the storm being cooped up in a windowless office at the time. Commute home took longer than usual. I came home to a 3 feet long puddle and a wet rug. At least there were no tree branches in my living room, so there’s that.

Make your own wet wipes

You’ll need:
2 cups water
2 tablespoons Dr. Bronner’s soap
1 tablespoon witch hazel
1 roll paper towel (preferably a brand that won’t break apart in water, such as Bounty)

a) Cut a whole roll of paper towels crosswise in half. Remove the cardboard center.

b) Place one of the halved rolls into an empty container big enough to hold it.

c) In a bowl, mix together water, Dr. Bronner’s soap and witch hazel.

d) Pour the liquid over paper towels and let soak for 30 minutes. Done.
